Guides are groups of girls aged between 10 and 14 who generally meet for 2 hours per week, taking part in an exciting and varied programme designed to inspire and challenge them at their regular meetings, during special events and trips away.
They can create their own campaigns, learn and share new skills, explore new places, attend camps, holiday and trips. As they progress through Guides they will have the chance to lead small groups, as well as giving support to younger girls which assists them in learning new leadership skills.
They will decide together what to do in their meetings, choosing from a wide range of badges, skills and activities covered by the six programme themes. There are interest badges to work on and skills builders to achieve, all helping them to hopefully achieve their Guide Gold Award.
Rangers are girls and young women aged 14 – 18 who have a number of opportunities available to them:
– Rangers meet for an agreed time, weekly or less often, and have fun doing activities together and can be recognised for their achievements with badges and awards. Rangers offer a range of unique opportunities by following the programme of interest badges, skills builders and awards, taking part in challenges, travelling abroad and developing skills across our six themes.
– Young Leaders help with Rainbow, Brownie or Guide Units in a leadership capacity alongside trained adult volunteers.
They also have the opportunity to work for their Queen’s Guide Award, Duke of Edinburgh Awards and to become Peer Educators.
Meet: Wednesdays 7:00-8:30pm
